ABOUT BASIC URBAN KITCHEN+BAR: Simplicity and urban style have converged to welcome BASIC Urban Kitchen + Bar to Downtown’s East Village. Uncomplicated is the name of the game at BASIC. Thin-crust brick oven pizza is the highlight on the one page menu, and a no-nonsense drink list and simple design elements complete the massive 5,000 square foot lounge and restaurant, which was converted from an authentic 1912 warehouse. The original brick walls are still intact, along with industrial garage doors, shag carpet constructed of old rubber tires, an oversized purple pool table, and a huge streamlined ceiling fan that spans 16-feet across.

Don't miss The Center's fourth annual Dining Out for Life® San Diego! On Thursday, April 29, 2010, 100 participating restaurants, bars, coffee houses and nightclubs in San Diego including BASIC URBAN KITCHEN + BAR will donate a minimum of 25% of sales to The Center's HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs. 

In 2009, 82 restaurants from 22 San Diego neighborhoods raised $105,000. Help us reach our goal of 100 restaurants and bars raising $125,000 or more to fight AIDS in San Diego this April!

Shave-a-thon to Raise Funds and Awareness
for Childhood Cancer Research

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 13th as the St. Baldrick’s Foundation teams up with BASIC Urban Kitchen + Bar for the organization’s annual, nationwide shave-a-thon.
